"There you were -
little wings peeking up over your shoulders, appearing
just in the moment someone was about to abandon hope,
and returning each moment after to stand beside, to
offer your hand, to umbrella me in your loving presence,
to utter the words, 'let go' which could now echo in
my own heart, so I could carry with me the angel's gift
of courage. Thank you."

Hospice assists patients and families to find hope and courage within, to make
the most of each day, in the face of life-limiting illness.
We embrace the dignity of the whole person, meeting physical, emotional and spiritual
needs.
We are guided always by what our patients and families wish for their care at
this special time of their lives.
We create a comprehensive care team with the family physician,
clergy, home care agency, and other health practitioners.
Hospice services are provided at home, Martha's Vineyard Hospital,
Windemere Nursing & Rehabilitation, or at assisted living
facilities in the community by nurses, social workers and
volunteers.
